AUBURN — On Nov. 1, a program was held to observe the 25th anniversary of the opening of the Lewiston-Auburn Kidney Center, 710 Main St., Lewiston, and the 10th anniversary of the Androscoggin Kidney Center, 1100 Minot Ave.

A luncheon was held at St. Phillips Church for the dialysis patients and the staff at both facilities and their families. Commemorative awards were given to those patients and staff members who have been coming to those centers for five, 10, 15, 20 and 25 years.

Awards were handed out by Dr. Candance Walworth, who has been the
medical director of the Lewiston-Auburn Kidney Center since its
inception.

Four staff members were given commemorative certificates for working at the kidney centers since the beginning in 1984: Lynn Lenhert RN, the original director of nursing at the Lewiston-Auburn Kidney Center and currently the director of nursing at the Androscoggin Kidney Center; Peter Heath, technical supervisor; Susan Gagne, RN, the nurse educator for both units; and Alan Wilson, mechanical supervisor.
