WEST PARIS — The third annual “Let Your Light Shine” will take place
at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15, at the West Paris Public Library.

Residents are invited to help the “Little Castle” glow with white
lights in honor of a loved one. The Friends of the Library are
sponsoring the bedecking of the library with sparkling white lights in
memory of or honor of special people. Suggested donation is $5 from
adults and $1 from children under 12 for each person to be honored.

The names of the individuals will be permanently inscribed in the library’s Let Your Light Shine Memory Book.

The event is a fundraiser for the library’s expansion project. Last year, the event raised close to $2,000 for the project.

Donations may be mailed to Friends of the Library, West Paris Public
Library, P.O. Box 307, West Paris, ME 04289 or dropped off at the town
office on Kingsbury Street. Each donation should include the name,
address and phone number of the donor(s), the name of the person(s) to
be honored and their relationship to the donor(s).

As in the past two years, first graders at the Agnes Gray
Elementary School are conducting a “Pennies for the Library Building
Fund”.

All are invited to attend the lighting. The new addition will be illuminated for the first time this year.

While the library is closed for construction, librarian Patty Makley has set up a small library in the conference room of the town hall. Newer books, paperbacks, children’s and young adult literature, DVDs and two computers are available. The hours are: 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Monday and Wednesday, from 1:30 to 6 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
