RANGELEY — The Rangeley Skating Club will have an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, at the Ecopelagicon Nature Store.
All are welcome to stop by and meet members. There will be refreshments, door prizes and raffle tickets will be offered. Memberships are being offered for $10 for an individual, $25 for a family and $50 for businesses. All membership money will go to help maintaining the public skating rink in front of the store.
The club will also accept donations of used skates. The skates are
available for use for free and there is a donation can for those who
wish to donate. The skates are sharpened and put out for use during the
winter.
The rink entrance during the winter is located on Haley Pond Park. The Park Committee has made the entrance neater, cleaning up the brush and trees.
The Rangeley Skating Club and the Town of Rangeley have worked to provide public skating on Haley Pond in the winter with lights for night skating, benches and shovels to help scrape and clean the ice. The rink is plowed and resurfaced with new layers of ice when needed.
