Sylvia E. Goddard
1925 – 2009
NORWAY — Sylvia E. Goddard, 84, of Mechanic Falls passed away on Monday, Nov. 23, at Stephens Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Paris, March 14, 1925, the daughter of Forrie and Emma J. Everett. She graduated from Paris High School. She had been employed at several area shoe shops and had been a homemaker all of her life.
She loved being at home and taking care of it. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and cooking. She was a member of Advent Church in Mechanic Falls and the First Baptist Church on Paris Hill in South Paris. She was a loving grandmother and for the past five years had been taken care of by her granddaughter, Nancy Stimson and her partner Julie McDonald.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Holder of Rumford; her son, Stanley Goddard and wife, Willa, of Saco; her son, Bob and wife, Peggy, of Mechanic Falls; her daughter, Carol Rowe-Anjileque DeChaine of Oklahoma; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband, Chester H. Goddard, whom she missed terribly; and two sons, Donald and Sidney.
