Christmas wreath sale
NORWAY — A Christmas wreath sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, at the Second Congregational Church, 205 Main St. The public is invited to purchase evergreen wreaths decorated by Sue Goulet. Proceeds will benefit the many missions of the church. People are urged to come early.
The Second Congregational Church, U.C.C. welcomes all to worship, study and join in fellowship. Worship and church school is held at 10 a.m. Sundays. For more information, call the church office at 743-2290.
Advent program
NORWAY — Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish will hold a four-week program during
Advent. The program of scripture readings, reflection, prayer and
music is designed to prepare minds, hearts and spirits to celebrate the
birth of Jesus on Dec. 25.
The program will be held from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Sundays, Nov. 29, Dec. 6, 13 and 20, at St.
Catherine of Sienna Church, 23 Paris St. All are welcome.
Church fair
OXFORD — The Advent Christian Church will host a Christmas Fair from 11
a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28. The fair will include a Chinese
auction, basket raffles, other raffles, a rummage sale and bake sale.
All proceeds will benefit the Families In Crisis Task Force and it’s
mission to help the needy in Oxford County.
Hot beverages
NORWAY — The Norway Historical Society, 471 Main St., will have hot
chocolate and hot coffee available before and during the Christmas
Parade on Saturday, Nov. 28. The beverages will be available between 1
and 4 p.m. The Norway Historical Society welcomes all parade watchers
to
visit the museum and see mementos of
Norway’s past. New members and volunteers are welcome.
Christmas fair
HARTFORD — A Christmas Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Saturday, Nov. 28, at the Hartford Town Hall. There will be crafters,
the Hartford New town newsletter, the Hartford Heritage Society
and J.O. Irish Museum, snowman collection, homemade sweaters and other
items, Christmas ornaments, homemade food items and a white
elephant table. Those who would like a table may call 224-735.
Rotary breakfast
BETHEL — The Rotary Club of Bethel will have an all-you-can-eat buffet from 7:30 to 11 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 29,
at Ordway Dining Hall, Gould Academy, Church
Street. Tickets are $7 in advance from club members or at RiverView Resort; The Inn at Rostay;
Bethel Chamber of Commerce; Mt. Mann Jewelers; Ellie’s Gym or $8 at the door. Proceeds
will benefit the club’s community projects and scholarships.
Church service
SOUTH PARIS — Trinity Lutheran Church, 34 Buckfield Rd. (Rte 117),
South Paris invites all to worship on the first Sunday in Lent, Nov.
29. Worship service starts at 10:15 a.m. followed by coffee,
refreshments and fellowship.
American Girl raffle
WATERFORD — The Waterford Library is sponsoring a raffle
for American Girl doll Rebecca Rubin (1914) with the accompanying book. Tickets are $5 each or five for
$20 and are available in the library. The drawing will be held at the
annual library holiday open house on Saturday, Dec. 19. The winner does not
need to be present. Funds raised by the American Girl raffle will go
towards book purchases for the children’s collection in the library.
