Odelie M. Castonguay
1917 – 2009
FARMINGTON — Odelie M. Castonguay, 92, a longtime resident of Livermore Falls died Wednesday, Nov. 25, at Franklin Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Quebec, Canada, May 14, 1917, the daughter of Amedee and Marie (Ruel) Brochu. On Nov. 10, 1936, she married Alfred Castonguay. He passed away in 1976; she was the last surviving Castonguay family member of that generation.
She worked at IP in Jay and at the Otis Mill as a cleaner. She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay and a member of the Snowshoe Club in Rumford. She was an avid seamstress and enjoyed gardening.
She is survived by two sons, Gerard Castonguay of Livermore Falls and Jean Castonguay and his wife, Sue, of Livermore Falls; three daughters and their husbands, Alice and Phil Legere of Tennessee, Simone and Larry Blouin of Greene and Marie and Emile Simoneau of Greenville and Millinocket; a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Castonguay of East Livermore; three brothers and two sisters; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by three sons, David, Richard and Robert; a daughter, Noella; and daughter-in-law, Sheila Castonguay.
