WEST HARTFORD, Conn. — The children, sons and daughters-in-law and grandchildren of Edward “Raf” and Jane Raftery announce the celebration of their 60 years of marriage.

Married in Hartford, Mr. and Mrs. Raftery spent most of their lives in Collinsville, until they relocated to their current home in West Hartford. The marriage survived and flourished through six decades of events, from the flood of 1955 to the highs and lows of successfully raising six children.

Because of the love and commitment they have brought each other and their family, they created a home that has always been there for their children to return to — which, to their occasional chagrin, they have done with some regularity.
