Susan A. Upham

 1953-2009

FARMINGTON — Susan A. Upham, 56, passed away unexpectedly at Franklin Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Farmington on April 8, 1953, the daughter of Keith and Elizabeth (Betty Hawes) Alexander. She graduated from Mount Blue High School in 1971. She later attended nursing school and became a licensed practical nurse. She worked at Thayer Hospital, and later Sandy River Nursing Care Center in Farmington.

She is survived by a daughter, Mel and her fiancé, Raymond Merchant, of New Sharon; father, Keith Alexander of Fairbanks; sister, Ann Forbes and her husband, Wesley “Skip,” of Chesterville; aunt, Sandra Lord of Saco; two nephews, Eric Forbes and his wife, Jessica, of Fairbanks, and Aaron Forbes of Chesterville; and great niece, Brooklyn Forbes of Chesterville.

She was predeceased by her mother, Betty Alexander, and both her maternal and paternal grandparents.
