I write in regard to the Nov. 6 article titled “Men charged in car thefts, cruiser crash held without bail,” written by Donna M. Perry.

My name is Thomas Cook and my name was mentioned in this article and I just wanted to clear up some things.

My name was mentioned in this article in reference to a “no contact” order. That does not mean I had something to do with the car thefts of other crimes alleged, because I did not. I feel like this article insinuated that I did take part in the events, which is untrue.

I am not, and will not be facing any charges. I wanted to make a clear statement. I am not a car thief, or a thief for that matter, and I do not want people to have that misconception of me because of this article.
