SOUTH PARIS — The Oxford Hills Rotary Club has announced the November Students of the Month at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School. They are: Devin St.Pierre, freshman; Tyler Hamlin, sophomore; Dana Beaudet, junior; and Whitney Rolfe, senior. This year begins the 10th year of the Rotary Club’s sponsorship of this program.
Each month, high school staff members nominate students who they feel have “made a difference in their classroom.” The goal of the program is to reward teamwork, positive behavior, extra effort and good student citizenship. The program is coordinated through the Oxford Hills Community Education Exchange and is part of the character education curriculum at the high school.
The nomination form lists character traits from which to choose when nominating students and explaining why that particular student exhibits those traits. These four students were praised for their positive influence on their classmates by showing respect, positive presence in the classroom, integrity, dedication to work and leadership.
The student’s names and picture will be placed on a plaque that hangs in the hallway across from the school library. On Nov. 4, they were honored at a rotary breakfast.
In addition, each month the four students have lunch with the principal.
