NORWAY — “An Old-fashioned Scandinavian Christmas” is the theme for this year’s holiday gathering at the Norway Memorial Library, to be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5.

Kantele Laulu, the Finnish heritage music group, will present a program at 4:30 p.m. The group plays the kantele which is a traditional Finnish lap-harp. They play traditional pieces as well as more familiar ones with their own original arrangements. Following the Kantele Laulu program, there will be refreshments, many with a Scandinavian origin.

There will be a craft activity from 5 to 6 p.m. in the Children’s Room of the library. School age children will be shown how to make a Finnish star out of paper.

Those who would like to attend or who would like to bring a Scandinavian treat to share, should call the library at 743-5309 or stop by the Information Desk.
