Phyllis L. Murphy
1921 – 2009
AUBURN — Phyllis L. (White) Murphy, 88, of 200 Stetson Road, Schooner Estates, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 29, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice.
She was born in Lewiston, July 24, 1921, the daughter of the late Walter and Agnes Timberlake White. She was educated in local schools graduating from Edward Little High School in 1939. She was married to John F. “Jack” Murphy, who predeceased her in 1978. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as supervisor of the Auburn school lunch program.
She enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her YoMo friends.
She leaves a daughter, Judith Williams of Tennessee; three grandchildren, Daniel Michaud of New Hampshire, Erik Michaud of Hollis and Melissa Williams of Tennessee; and five great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a sister, Barbara White; and a brother, Clifton “Kip” White.
