Why should I care about health care reform? I have health insurance.
However, I can count on my rates to increase annually. I can count on my daughters being dropped from my policy as they reach a certain age, and I can count on small businesses being unable to grow and provide coverage for employees.
The current system in Maine limits competition between insurance companies, so that we can all count on not getting the best rates available.
The people of this state cannot afford to not care about the issue. Small businesses are the future and our children should have job opportunities with health care benefits.
Everyone should applaud when government representatives take a stand to improve the lives of the public, and people should encourage them to continue the fight to make Maine a better place to live and work.
