Clemmie L. Jackson
1948 – 2009

LEWISTON — Clemmie L. Jackson, 61, of Lewiston, passed away on Dec. 1, at Marshwood Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Thomaston, Ala., March 13, 1948, the daughter of James and Cora (Taylor) Walton. She attended Miles College earning a bachelor’s degree. She worked for several years at Miles College as a student counselor. She moved to Detroit, Mich., and became a pastor at All People’s Church of God. She then moved to Maine and later married Pastor Albert Jackson Sr. on Sept. 4, 1999.

She was a member of Christ Temple Church of God in Christ in Auburn. She enjoyed shopping, hats and conversation, but her greatest joy was attending church and Bible reading.

She is survived by her beloved spouse, Pastor Jackson; one sister, Equilla Washington and husband, Elder George Washington; nieces, Rosalyn Washington, Jean Kelly and Vokeisa Edwards and husband, George; nephews, George Washington and Alfred Kelly; stepsons, Albert (Randy) Jackson Jr. and wife, Roxann and Patrick and Harrison Jackson; stepgrandsons, Devin and Avery Jackson; and a host of great-nieces, nephews, families and friends.
