As I write, it is late in the day, Friday, Nov. 27 — “Black Friday.” The shoppers are probably waking up from their afternoon naps (not me, I got up at 8:30 a.m.).
Basking in the afterglow of a wonderful Thanksgiving, I am also thankful for this:
It is no longer October, and the political fights are over. No more deceptive hysteria and scarcity of facts. This year is different, though. Most politicians who lose will graciously congratulate the victor and wish him/her well. Those who lost on Question 1 are not accepting the will of the people in this democracy. They have whined, ranted and made threats. The vast majority of homosexuals, who are decent, caring people, must be ashamed of the others.
Wouldn’t it be nice to live as though every day were Thanksgiving? Instead of getting caught up in the frantic commercialism of this wonderful season, let’s embrace its true meaning.
Peace and love to all.
