NORWAY — The Norway Grange 45 met recently.

At the meeting, the basket raffle winners were drawn. The raffle was part of the 135th anniversary celebration of the Grange in Norway. The baskets were handcrafted by Grange member Christine Hebert; one basket was filled with soup and crackers and the other with the elements of a spaghetti dinner.

The winner of the soup basket was Karen Ferris and the winner of the spaghetti basket was Shelly Shibles.

The Norway Grange was originally organized in 1874, meeting in various places in the town. The present building was completed and the first meeting held there 100 years ago, in December, 1909.

The Grange building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Besides Grange meetings, the hall is the venue for local groups and organizations, among them OHMPAA and the Saturday Farmers Market.

Proceeds from the raffle will go to help pay off the loan for painting the building.
