FARMINGTON — Sgt. Peter A. Barton has been selected as the Farmington Police Department’s Employee of the Quarter for the summer.

Police Chief Richard E. Caton III said that during this quarter and throughout the last year, Barton has renewed traffic enforcement efforts while continuing to meet regular demands as an evening supervisor.

The increase in traffic enforcement has not gone unnoticed by the officers and supervisors of the Farmington Police Department, he said. One of the goals of the police department is to reduce traffic crashes and one proven way to reduce crashes is by a high level of traffic law enforcement, Caton said.
