Open house

NORWAY — The Norway Business Association will sponsor a holiday open house from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5. Participating businesses on Main Street will have holiday specials and refreshments will be available at some locations.

Free wagon rides will be available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with pick up locations at Oxford Federal Credit Union, the Child Development Center, Beals Tavern Parking Lot (next to Pike’s) and at the corner of Water and Main streets.

Holiday craft fair

BUCKFIELD — A holiday craft fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, at Buckfield High School, 160 Morrill St. There will be more than 55 different vendors offering items including baked goods, candles, raffles, jewelry, knitted and quilted
items, books and dried flowers.

There will be live musical performances, an appearance by Santa Claus and lunch items.

Senior citizens

BETHEL — The Bethel Senior Citizens Club
will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, at the Funky Red Barn, Summer Street, for their Christmas
party and luncheon. The price of dinner is $8 for members and $10 for
nonmembers.

Members are asked to bring food for the food pantry or cash
donations for Christmas for Children or Christmas for Families.
Reservations are required by calling Nancy at 824-3350 or Arlene at
824-2877 before Monday, Dec. 7. 

Library talk

BRYANT POND —  Martha Elkin will be the guest at the Whitman Memorial Library at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10. She will present a program
about “A Day at School in 1853.”

Elkin participates
in the living history program at the Morrill Farm in Sumner where she
is the schoolmarm for an 1853 school day.
