Girls’ Basketball
Coach: Nate Pelletier (fifth year)
Last year’s record: 15-5, lost in Eastern A semifinal
Returning letter winners: Seniors – Lindsay Fox (5-6 guard), Megan Joyce (5-10 center), Alli Nolan (5-9 forward), Caitlin Hanley (5-6 guard), Brooke Ladd (5-3 guard).
Key losses: Lauren Brett (guard), Melanie Cloutier (guard), Laura Courcy (guard), Mindy Rugg (forward), Megan Gauger (guard), Maddie Littlefield (guard).
Promising newcomers: Junior – Dayna Shultz (5-7 guard), Sophomore – Ashley West (5-6 guard); Freshmen – Abbie Eastman (5-4 guard), Alex Rowe (5-9 forward), Kelsey DeBlois (5-9 forward).
Outlook: The Vikings lost six regulars from last year but still return five seniors that make the core of this team. Joyce and Fox were both All-KVAC players. Fox will spearhead a strong defense while Joyce is a strong post presence. The bench will be thinner than last year as the new players fill that void, but Oxford Hills still has the makings of a playoff team.
Coach’s comment: “After losing six seniors, we will need the incoming senior class to step it up, as well as prepare some of the younger players for the challenge of Class A East basketball. We will be a competitive team night in and night out, hoping to upset a team or two on the way. Our team goal is to be back in the tournament, and with our senior leadership, I feel we can accomplish this.” – Coach Nate Pelletier
