RUMFORD — A Rumford man was injured after suffering a seizure Thursday while inside the King Wok Chinese Restaurant and falling head first through a plate-glass window in the front door, according to police.

Roland Young, 34, suffered a gash to the back of his neck at 12:35 p.m. at the restaurant at 105 Congress St., according to investigating Sgt. David Bean.

“I believe it was a non life-threatening injury,” Bean said.

Bean said he believes Young finished having lunch and was about to leave when he suffered the seizure.

“From what I understand, he fell backward at the front door and his head went through the plate-glass door panel, causing the wound to the back of his neck,” Bean said.

Rumford firefighters responding from their station just up the street, quickly bandaged the wound. Then, Young was taken to Rumford Hospital by Med-Care Ambulance.

Calls to the hospital for Young’s condition were not immediately returned.
