SOUTH PARIS — Robert Wentworth Milton, 81, of Milton Lane in Mechanic Falls, died Thursday, Dec. 3, at the Maine Veterans’ Home after a long
illness.
He was born in Andover, Dec. 22, 1927, the son of Robert L. and Vivian M. Milton. He married Virginia Record, and they made their family home in Mechanic
Falls for more than 49 years. His home and grounds were a testament to his talent as a woodworker and gardener.
He graduated from Paris High School in 1945 and that summer joined the Marine Corps, serving for six years. He was stationed in Guam and China. He worked for Central Maine Power until he joined his father in the family business, Milton Insurance Agency. He was a 20-year member of the Auburn-Lewiston Kiwanis Club. As a member he filled all chairs including president and district lieutenant governor.
He will be sadly missed by his son, Stanley and his wife, Susan, of Andover; daughter, Patricia of Mechanic Falls and her fiancée, Scott Hamilton; granddaughter, Lori Chouinard and husband, David, and their children, Joshua and Hannah of Turner, granddaughter, Jennifer Milton and her boyfriend, Jody Brown, and her children, Brittany and Hunter of Harrison; brother, Fred and wife, Penny, of West Boylston, Mass.; and sister, Joanne Lowell of South Paris.
He was predeceased by his father, Robert in 1998; his mother, Vivian in 2004; son, John in 2003; and his wife, Virginia in 2004.
