First, I would have to say to the new mayor of Auburn that he has a very big pair of shoes to fill. We have had the best mayor of any city in the country. Too bad he didn’t want the job again.
If I were the new mayor, I would let the City Council run the city with the great city manager we have in Auburn. The new mayor should just be the mayor and do the things that mayors do.
Second (I gave this a lot of thought), in the past six months, I believe there have been 25 or more vehicle accidents in which a vehicle has caught on fire.
I wonder why.
I think it is the new gasoline mixture that includes alcohol. We, as a nation, are forced to use 10 percent alcohol in fuel for our vehicles. Alcohol will atomize a lot quicker than straight gasoline. It is true that the old fuel would catch on fire and burn, but not like alcohol. Alcohol explodes much faster than the old fuel.
There have been a lot of vehicle fires locally; what about the rest of the country? Our elected officials made the law and they should change it. We can make them change it.
We have a big problem with the new fuel mix, believe me.
