Elizabeth N. Lowe

LEWISTON – Elizabeth N. Lowe, 84, a resident of Gamage Avenue, Auburn, died Thursday, at the Marshwood Health Care Facility following a long illness.
She was born in Auburn, May 6, 1925, the daughter of Celand T. and Arlene A. (Boivin) Newell. She was the eldest of four children. She attended Dixfield schools, and was salutorian of the 1943 class of Dixfield High School. She then continued her education at Burdett College in Boston.
Elizabeth was mostly a homemaker in life but was employed earlier in life at the former Peck’s Department Store in Lewiston and later was bookkeeper for the family business, Lowe’s Plumbing and Heating. She had an earlier interest in life as a follower of the Christian Science Church, but her proudest life’s achievement was raising her family together with her husband, Richard.
Survivors include one son, Brian Lowe of Lewiston; two brothers, Donald Newell of New Hampshire and Homer Newell and wife, Laura, of Mexico; one sister, Ruth Holman of Dixfield. Also surviving are two grandsons, Jeremy Lowe and wife, Lynn, of Turner and Jared Lowe and fiancée, Shawna Beaudoin, of Auburn.
Besides her husband, Richard; she was predeceased by one daughter-in-law, Paula.
