This is in response to the Dec. 2 editorial, “We can do more, as a nation, for our veterans.”

Yes, we can.

We can practice what we teach kids in kindergarten: Find another way to resolve conflict besides hitting.

As long as we keep sending our young people to fight with other young people over issues we don’t clearly understand, we can depend on our veterans being maimed in all sorts of awful ways.

Truly sad for such a brilliant country.
