The annual meeting of the Central Maine General Hospital Corporation was held at the hospital Tuesday afternoon at 4 o’clock, the principal business of the afternoon being the election of officers. The report of the treasurer was unusually encouraging, showing all running expenses for the year having been paid, leaving a small balance in the treasury.
50 years ago, 1959
Bids on converting the heating system at Wallace School from coal to oil were opened last night by the Lewiston Finance Board, and again the prices were more than the budget allotment.
Bidding were L. W. Haskell Co. of Auburn, $2,722, and Harry E. Nason, also of Auburn, $2,985. Only $2,600 is budgeted. The bids were referred to the school board.
25 years ago, 1984
The Androscoggin Valley Board of Realtors will install 1985 officers at its Dec. 13 meeting at Happy Jack’s Restaurant in Lewiston. The meeting begins with a social hour, followed by dinner and a business meeting.
New officers for the coming year are president Barbara Shields, vice president Robert Brickel and directors Tim Worden, Anita Fournier, Cheryl Leblanc, Sharon Millett and Conrad Robitaille.
Following the installation, which will be conducted by Ms. Millett, the incoming Maine Realtors Association president, new realtors will receive their pins and membership kits.
