MINOT — Two people were hospitalized Monday after the 1999 Subaru station wagon they were riding in skidded off the road and flipped over and crashed into trees, police said.

Brenda Wetherall, 58, of 157 Hebron Road, Buckfield, was northwest-bound on Holbrook Road when the car she was driving skidded on ice and went off the road, a trooper at Maine State Police said. She apparently was traveling too fast for the road conditions, police said.

She was taken by ambulance to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston with a leg injury, police said.

Her passenger, Ken Wetherall, 70, was flown by LifeFlight of Maine to the hospital with broken ribs, police said.

A hospital spokesman said the two patients were listed in stable condition.

No other vehicles were involved. No citations were issued.
