George Bartlett and Leroy Temple of Lewiston returned on the afternoon train Wednesday from Eustis, Maine, where they have been on a hunting trip. They brought with them four large does and a good-sized bear, all the law allows.

The Auburn Planning Board last night approved a proposed budget of $13,879 for the 1960-61 fiscal year, including a $5,000 appropriation for the aerial mapping of 10 square miles of the city.
Prepared by City Planner-Engineer Roscoe L. Clifford, the budget passed with little debate by the board. It now goes by City Manager Woodbury E. Brackett.
Clifford recommended to the board the area along the perimeter of the presently developed section of the city be that which would be mapped.

The Bates College men’s track team will be looking to wind up the 1984 portion of the winter schedule on an upbeat note Saturday when the Bobcats play host to Fitchburg State College, perennially one of the region’s top squads.
The meet will start at 1 p.m. in the new Bates field house on Russell Street, with the shot put and 35-pound weight throw taking place in Gray Field House on Central Avenue.
