BRIDGTON — The Bridgton Hospital Guild celebrated the lighting of their living Tree of Love outside the Bridgton Hospital on Nov. 30.
Christmas carols, led by Carolyn Stanhope, organist and choir director of the First Congregational Church, Bridgton, led the gathering, followed by hot chocolate and cookies at the Guild coffee shop.
Individuals and families may purchase a Tree of Love Christmas bulb to place on the tree in memory of, or in honor of, their loved ones during the holiday season.
The Tree of Love program includes the living balsam tree outdoors, which glows throughout the season, and a lighted tree in the Bridgton Hospital lobby that displays all the bulbs with names on them.
Bulbs are purchased for a gift of $5 or more and are available to purchase at the Bridgton Hospital Guild Coffee Shop, the Guild Thrift Shop on Main Street and in administration at the main hospital. All funds raised by the Bridgton Hospital Guild ultimately benefit the Bridgton Hospital and patient care.
