RUMFORD — Rumford Hospital Annual Appeal funds are currently being disbursed by the Capital Expenditures Committee that recently allocated monies to purchase a much-needed recumbent bicycle for the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program, LifeStrides. The funding came in large part from the Robert Crawford Memorial, which was restricted to cardiac rehab.

Annual Appeal funds are used by the committee to purchase equipment and furnishings for the hospital to benefit patients.

“Every gift that is comes into the hospital during the annual appeal year is counted toward the total of the annual, even though some gifts are earmarked for a certain department or purpose,” said Capital Expenditures Committee Chairwoman Becky Hall. “That way, the hospital is able to assess the full giving picture.”

Both she and Gale Hill, secretary of the committee, are also members of the Rumford Hospital Development Committee.

People who have not received an Annual Appeal 2009-2010 brochure and remittance envelope should call Rumford Hospital Community Relations at 369-1143 and request more information if they are interested in the appeal.
