Roger E. Gagnon Sr.
1932 – 2009
SCARBOROUGH — Roger E. Gagnon Sr., 77, of Main Street, South Portland, died Thursday, Dec. 10, at the Maine Veterans Home.
He was born in Lewiston, March 16, 1932, a son of Philippe and Yvonne (Belanger) Gagnon. He was raised in Lewiston and attended Holy Cross School.
He married Yvette R. Cloutier on May 28, 1955, at Holy Family Church in Lewiston. They made their home in Lewiston until moving to South Portland in 1969.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years; a son, Roger E. Gagnon Jr. of Limington; a daughter, Linda D. Smith and her husband, Thomas, of Walpole, Mass.; a sister, Cecile Cyr and her husband, Rod, of Lewiston; a brother, Fern Gagnon and his wife, Vivian, of New Paltz, N.Y.; seven grandchildren, Michelle, Phil, Nicole, Joseph, Danny, Amanda and Brian; and five great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by three sisters, Leda Caron, Laurette Gagnon and Doris Marcotte; and two brothers, Larry and Adrien Gagnon.
