Ulric S. Turmel
1928 – 2009
EAST MILLINOCKET — Ulric S. Turmel, passed away with his family by his side at his home in East Millinocket on Dec. 4.
He was born on Aug. 2, 1928, in Chisholm, to the late Antonio and Marie Turmel.
On Aug. 14, 1948, he married Nancy Louise Hoag at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay. They moved to East Millinocket in 1954, where he worked as a papermaker at the Great Northern Paper Co. In 1974, he became day foreman until his retirement in 1986.
He is survived by his three children and eight grandchildren, Claudia Oliver and her husband, Wesley, and her two daughters, Chris and Allie; Mary Nattress and her husband, Clarke, of Benedicta and their children, Nehemiah, Naomi, Noah and Natalia; Eric TurMel and and Deborah Beaulieu of Millinocket and their children, Trever and Caleb; five of his 10 brothers and sisters, Liette Elskamp of Sanford, Armance Rich and her husband, Robert, of Auburn, Viola Aldrich of Norway and Florida, Bertrand Turmel and wife, Dolores, of Jay and Joseph Turmel of California.
He was predeceased by his wife, Nancy Haag Turmel; brothers, Guy, Real and Emery; sisters, Rhea Cornelio and Marie Poulin; sisters-in-law, Geraldine Turmel of Texas, and Shirley Turmel of Livermore Falls; brothers-in-law, Peter Cornelio of Jay and Maurice Poulin of Jay. Funeral services were held Dec. 8 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in East Millinocket.
