Somma
PORTLAND — The Rev. James Nadeau officiated at the 11 a.m. wedding held at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Aug. 1 which united in marriage Christie Anne Beaulieu and Matthew James Somma.
The bride is the daughter of Michael and Theresa Beaulieu of Gray. The bridegroom is the son of James G. and Connie Somma of Portland.
Escorted to the altar by her father, the bride wore a white satin A-line gown beaded with lace appliques. The chapel length veil was edged with cutout lace and she wore a tiara headpiece along with a two-tier fingertip veil. Her cascading bouquet consisted of white roses, blue delphinium, green ivy and pearl stuffed stephanotis.
Jenna Beaulieu served as maid of honor for her sister. Bridesmaids were Jennifer Black and Amanda Blunda, friends of the bride, Jaime Pappalardo, sister of the bridegroom, and Donna Somma, sister-in-law of the bridegroom. Kaitlyn Bilodeau, cousin of the bride, was the flower girl.
Joe Somma was best man for his brother. Groomsmen were Chris Somma, brother of the bridegroom, Noah Harrison and Dave Schmitt, friends of the bridegroom, and Mark Pappalardo, brother-in-law of the bridegroom. Joey Somma, godson of the bridegroom, was the ring bearer. Andrew Beaulieu, brother of the bride, escorted his mother and the flower girl down the aisle
The reception was held following the wedding at Dunegrass Golf Club in Old Orchard Beach. The couple honeymooned in Hawaii and they are currently residing in Gray.
Mrs. Somma graduated from Catherine McAuley High School and the University of New England with a degree in dental hygiene. She is employed in South Portland as a dental hygienist.
Mr. Somma graduated from Cheverus High School and the University of New England, completing his doctorate degree in physical therapy. He is employed at Saco Bay Physical Therapy in Scarborough.
Mrs. Somma is the granddaughter of Laurette Bilodeau and the late Gerald R. Bilodeau, and the late Theresa and Leo Beaulieu, all of Lewiston.
