Community gathering
WATERFORD — The Waterford Library holiday community gathering will take place on Saturday, Dec. 19. The celebration will begin at 7 p.m. on the Waterford Common with candle lit caroling and proceed to the library for refreshments. Children will have an opportunity to visit with Santa and will receive a book as a gift. Everyone is invited.
Raffle tickets for American Girl doll Rebecca Rubin (1914) are currently on sale in the library at $5 each or five for $20. The drawing will be held at the open house. The winner does not need to be present. Funds raised by the raffle will go towards book purchases for the children’s collection in the library.
Bean supper
NORWAY —
A public baked bean supper will be held from
5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, at the Norway Masonic Lodge Hall, 9
Temple St. There will be a $7 donation for adults and $4 for children under 12. Three types of beans will be offered, as well as hot dogs, coleslaw, rolls and homemade pies. For more information, call Ken Verrill at 739-9672.
Toy drive
SOUTH PARIS — The Families in Crisis Task Force will hold its
annual Christmas toy distribution from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, at the Family Counseling Services
office, 659 Park St. The
program is for grandparents and parents, including absent parents, that
are in need because of low income or other crisis situations.
The group can
only give for the same child once. Turkeys and hams will be given while supplies last. For more information, call

Neighborly seniors
DIXFIELD — The Neighborly Senior Citizens will meet on Wednesday, Dec. 16, at the Dixfield Legion. The meeting will start at 11 a.m. followed by a potluck dinner. Entertainment will be provided by Silver and Gold. New members are welcome. The club is still collecting 2010 calendars for the Victorian Villa.
