NORWAY — Western Maine Health Vice President of Clinical Service, M. Patricia Cook, announced recently that three employees of Western Maine Health have been awarded scholarships for further education by the Stephens Volunteer Services.

Scholarship recipients for the fall of 2009 were Kim DeSanctis, RN, Stephens Memorial Hospital, pursuing a bachelor of science in nursing at St. Josephs College; Alison Newton, RN, pursuing a bachelor of science in nursing from the University of Maine Fort Kent; and Katherine Warren, CNA, who is currently enrolled in general studies at Central Maine Community College and will be pursuing her associate in nursing degree.

Stephens Volunteer Services awards scholarships twice a year after reviewing the applications of eligible employees. The Scholarship Committee has awarded $6,500 worth of scholarships every year to employees for job related further education.
