DIXFIELD — The Dixfield Congregational Church, the Church on the Hill,
High Street, will present 1777 A Colonial Christmas at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20 and again at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22. In case of inclement weather, a cancelled performance will be given on Wednesday, Dec. 23.

Before the cantata is performed, a video presentation including background scenes from Valley Forge will draw the audience’s attention to the colonial soldiers led by George Washington during the winter at Valley Forge, Penn.

There is no admission fee. Donations will be accepted and sent to the
USO for U.S. troops. The monetary gifts will help provide numerous services, including Operation Phone Home, Operation Enduring Care (for wounded soldiers), Operation
USO Care Package and mobile canteens. GI families are also
provided for through such programs as Overseas Community Centers,
United Through Reading and Operation Mail Call. Information will be
available at the performances for those interested in learning more.
