John C. Tyler
1938 – 2009
AUGUSTA — John C. Tyler, 71, of Farmington, died Sunday, Dec. 13, at the MaineGeneral Medical Center.
He was born on Jan. 10, 1938, in Avon, the son of Fulton Wilbur and Ada (Harnden) Tyler. He was educated in Farmington schools.
On July 2, 1966, he married Irma “Jacqui” Kennedy at St. Joseph’s Church in Farmington. His beloved wife, Jacqui died Nov. 4, 2007.
He worked farming until 1966 when he went into the woods logging. He retired in 1995, but stayed busy still cutting small lots and restoring antique tractors.
He was a member of the Maine Antique Tractor Club and was passionate about restoring antique tractors and farm equipment. He also was proud to have made several donations to the Rangeley Logging Museum.
He is survived by his mother, Ada Tyler of Farmington; his children, Tony “Scott” Tyler of Farmington, Troy Tyler of Farmington, Tina Tyler-Pelletier of Livermore Falls and Tess Elizabeth Tyler of Rochester, N.H.; grandchildren, Tony Scott Tyler Jr., Dustin Cole Tyler and Kenneth Scott Pelletier II; siblings, Marilyn Gilmore of Florida, Janet Kennedy of Industry, Gail Currier of Farmington, David Tyler of Farmington, Joe Tyler of Bangor, Nancy Tyler of Andover, Peter Tyler of New Vineyard and Eddie Tyler of Farmington; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father, Fulton; sisters, Elaine Flagg and Suzie Nile; and his stepfather, Albert Tyler.
