WILTON —
The Wilton Warming Centers project has announced an update to its schedule. The centers will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. two days each week, January through March.
Beginning Monday, Jan. 4,
the center will be open Mondays and Wednesdays, at the Wilton Congregational Church, 386 Main St., 645-2535.
During February, the center will be open Mondays and Thursdays, at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, High Street, 645-2639
During March, the center will be open Mondays and Wednesdays, at the Masonic Lodge Seniors Plus Meals Site, Bryant Road, East Wilton, sponsored by Wilton United Methodist Church, 645-4885.
The centers offer a place to gather, socialize, read, relax, play a board game or work on a craft.
A hot meal will be provided at noon, with a monetary donation welcome. Snacks, coffee and tea will be available throughout the day.
The project is sponsored by the churches of the Wilton Ecumenical Outreach Ministry and SeniorsPlus.
The centers will serve primarily the communities of Wilton, East Wilton, North Jay, East Dixfield and Weld, but all are welcome whether residing in these or other communities.
Storm closures will be according to SeniorsPlus meal site closures and will be announced on radio and television.
Volunteers from throughout the community are also welcome. Phone 645-2535 to inquire about volunteering.
