Lighting candles
PHILLIPS — A Christmas Eve service will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 24, at the Congregational Church. The service will include carols, Christmas scripture readings and lighting candles person-to-person around the church. Regular Sunday services are at 10 a.m., and on Sunday, Dec. 20, there will be a meeting and lunch after church, at the Community House. All are welcome to all of the events.
Christmas Eve service
WILTON — The Wilton Congregational Church will hold its annual candlelight Christmas Eve service at 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 24.
The service will include the story of the birth of Christ, singing of Christmas carols, a children’s story, presentations by children and youth of the church and music provided by The Merry Gentlefolk.
In the candlelight portion of the service, there will be the singing of “Silent Night” and “Let There be Peace on Earth.”
The church is handicapped accessible. The church is located at 386 Main St. All are welcome to attend.
Worship service
STRONG — The Strong United Methodist Church will host a family Christmas
Eve candle-lighting worship service at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 24. There will be
music, and the congregation will light candles and sing “Silent Night.”
The worship service is open to the public and it will be family-friendly.
Service of lessons
NEW SHARON — The New Sharon Congregational Church on Cape Cod Hill Road will have a Christmas Eve service of lessons, carols and candle-lighting at 4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 24. All are welcome.
