AUBURN — Jeannette C. Chenard, 83, of 93 Summit Ave., Lewiston, died Tuesday, Dec. 15, at the Hospice House after a long battle with cancer.
She was born in Upper Frenchville, Oct. 14, 1926, the daughter of Arthur and Delina Cyr Cote. Educated in Frenchville schools, she moved to Lewiston at a young age and was employed for several years as a spinner in the Hill Mill.
On Oct. 24, 1953, she was married to Bertrand G. Chenard. A member of Holy Cross Church, Prince of Peace Parish, she also belonged to Holy Cross Senior Citizens, the Ladies of St. Anne, and the Mid-Maine Motorcycle Association.
Survivors include her loving husband of 56 years, Bertrand C. Chenard of Lewiston; sisters-in-law, Irene Andrews, Rita Rodrigue, Pauline Blanchard and Rita Chenard; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a brother, Camile Cote; and three sisters, Lucille Maxim, Irene Levesque and Yvonne Cote.
