Dorothy ‘Dottie’ Austin Crockett

 1931-2009

WILTON – Dorothy ‘Dottie” Austin Crockett, 78, of Eastern Avenue Apartments, died unexpectedly Friday morning at her home.

She was born in Dixfield on May 3, 1931, a daughter of Cephus and Hattie (Wilson) Austin and received her education in local schools. On Dec. 27, 1947, she married Arthur E. Crockett. He died on Dec. 28, 1994.

She was a homemaker and she enjoyed crocheting and craft projects. She loved to watch cooking shows and QVC and enjoyed going to Bible study. She was a member of the East Wilton Union Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and neighbors at the Eastern Avenue Apartments in Wilton.

She is survived by her six children, Anita Tucker and her husband, Douglas, of Wilton, Juanita Vining and her husband, Mike, of Weld, Cynthia Proctor and her husband, Donald, of Perkins Township, Gerald Crockett and his wife, Kathy, of Wilton, Elizabeth Crockett and her companion, Dennis Rackliff, of Dixfield and Michelle Bachelder and her husband, Boyd, of Farmington; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Donald Austin of South Carolina and Danny Austin of China; and a special friend, Calvin Hobert of Wilton;

She was predeceased by her husband; a sister, Mary Ward; and a brother, Ernest.
