AUGUSTA — Two well-known musical families will join forces to present a concert of Downeast, Celtic and Quebecois folk on Sunday, Jan. 10, as part of the Concerts at Jewett series put on by the University of Maine at Augusta College of Arts and Humanities and UMA Senior College.

“Family Folk Festival: The Gawlers and the Boardmans” will feature music filled with guitar and banjo picking, fiddling, singing, and the families’ love of music.

John and Ellen Gawler and their daughters have entertained audiences in Maine for many years. Veteran fiddler Greg Boardman, founder of Maine Fiddle Camp, will be joined by his sons for the performance.

The concert will begin at 2 p.m. at Jewett Hall Auditorium. Snow date is Jan. 17.

Tickets
are $10, $5 for students; 12 and under admitted free. Tickets are
available at Pat’s Pizza in Augusta, Apple Valley Books in Winthrop and Al
Corey Music Center in Waterville; they will also be sold at the door.
