Claire H. Ouellette
1929 – 2009
LEWISTON — Claire H. Ouellette, 80, of 6 McNamara St., passed away on Monday, Dec. 21, at St. Mary’s d’Youville Pavilion.
She was born at St. Methode de Frontenac, P.Q., Canada, Nov. 29, 1929, the daughter of the late Philippe A. and Josephine M. Bolduc Plante. She was educated in Caribou and Lewiston schools and was married March 29, 1948 to Camille J. Ouellette, who predeceased her Feb. 13, 1962. She had been employed for 15 years as a bus driver for Hudson Bus Lines and later at St. Mary’s Hospital housekeeping for 10 years, retiring in 1987.
She was a member of Holy Family Church and enjoyed woodworking, gardening and flowers. She was very involved with children, loved her family, grandchildren and enjoyed fishing with her children.
She is survived by three sons, Albert of Goffstown, N.H., Robert and wife, Doris, of Greene and Marc and wife, Debbie, of Norwich, Conn.; a daughter-in-law, Elaine Ouellette of Lewiston; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Rose Anna of New York.
She was predeceased by her son, Denis Ouellette in April 2007; a daughter, Irene Harvey in November 2006; and 14 siblings, Charles August Plante, Aline Perreault, Anita Plante, Anna Berube, Joe Plante, Emanuel Plante, Gabrielle Plante, Abraham Plante, Jean Robert Plante, Louis Philip Plante, Madeline Belanger, Blanche Irene Jacques, Rita Arnold and Bertha Grimmel.
