Irene M. Aube

1919 – 2009

LEWISTON – Irene M. Aube, 90, of 102 Campus Ave., Lewiston, died peacefully early Sunday morning, Dec. 27, at D’Youville Pavilion.

She was born in Waterville, on Sept. 13, 1919, the daughter of Alfred Sr. and Anna (Poirier) Chamberlain and had been a resident of this community since 1944. She was educated in Waterville schools.

She was married to Joseph Aube on Jan. 7, 1946, and he died on July 22, 2000.
She was employed as an inspector for many years at Belgrade Shoe and for seven years at J.J. Newbury until her retirement.
Irene was a parishioner of Holy Cross Church and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes. She loved making rosaries, knitting and was devoted to our Lord.

She is survived by one son, Henry Aube and his wife Cynthia; one daughter, Therese Hood and her husband David; one brother, Fred Chamberlain; one sister, Cecile Cogswell; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her oldest daughter, Cecile Berube; and several brothers and sisters.
