Noella R. Landry

1923 – 2009

LEWISTON – Noella R. Landry, 86, formerly of 10 Oak St., Apt. 224, died Thursday, Dec. 24, at the d’Youville Pavilion following a long illness.

Born in Lewiston on June 21, 1923, she was the daughter of August and Alma Veilleux Jean. Educated in local schools, she married Alfred E. Landry in 1941. Mr. Landry passed away on Dec. 27, 1985. She was employed for many years as a fancy stitcher in the local shoe industry, and was known for her sewing and knitting.

A member of the former St. Mary’s Parish, she is survived by a son, Ronald and wife, Carol Landry, of Millinocket; a daughter, Pauline and husband, Alfred Short, of Greene; two brothers, Roland and wife, Georgette Jean, of Pahrump, Nev., and Gerard and wife, Rita Jean, of Florida; and nine grandchildren.

Besides her husband and parents; she was predeceased by a son, Richard Landry, who died in 1999; an infant son, Normand; an infant daughter, Lena; four sisters, Adrienne Leclair, Lucille Leclair, Murielle Leblonde and Fern Cote; and a brother, Real Jean.
