Carolyn R. Turcotte
1934 – 2009
HARTFORD — Carolyn R. Turcotte, 75, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday of a short-term illness while surrounded by family.
She was born in Lewiston on Feb. 20, 1934, the youngest of five children of Merle and Mildred Keough. She attended school in Auburn and worked sewing shoes at home so as to spend time with her family. She then worked at Best Trophies, and was head housekeeper at Days Inn of Auburn.
Carolyn was a widow of her first marriage to Sgt. Warren Brown. She then remarried to Michael J. Turcotte Sr. on Nov. 26, 1972, in Lewiston. She had two children from her first marriage, one son and one daughter, Gerald Brown and Bonnie Russell. She then had two other children from her second marriage, Randy Turcotte and Michael Turcotte Jr.
She loved to travel to Germany and Panama, living on base with her first husband. She loved to work making things beautiful in her flower gardens, and when she had the time, she enjoyed baking and going to stock car races. The people that know her understand that she could be a real spitfire at times, but with a good sense of humor. But all in all, Carolyn always could find the time to be with her family, showing love and support.
She is survived by her two sisters, Margaret Stevens of Auburn, and Shirley Higgins of Turner.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Donald Keough and Arthur Keough.
You will always be with us in our hearts and thoughts.
