SACO — The Saco Museum will showcase “Practicing What We Preach: Work by Maine Art Teachers,” an exhibit that brings together the creative work of art educators statewide. Featured will be a variety of media, including drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry and fiber art.
Artists represented in this show teach in Maine’s public and private schools and universities and are members of the Maine Art Educators Association. Among the more than 45 artists showing their work are Kay McKeever Allison, Lewiston Middle School; Maura McHugh and Christine DelRossi, Mt. Ararat Middle School, Topsham; Dan Dearing, Brunswick public schools; Nancy Michalak, Gray-New Gloucester High School, Gray; Chris Beal, Lake Region High School, Naples; Barbara Berry-Palm, Brunswick Junior High School; and Heather Monson and Allison Price, Brunswick High School.
Organized by the Maine Art Educators Association, “Practicing What We Preach: Work by Maine Art Teachers” will overlap with National Youth Art Month in March It will be on view Jan. 16 through March 19. An opening reception will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23.
