Robert W. Hall, Sr.
1946 – 2009

LEWISTON — Robert W. Hall, 63, of Brook Street, Sabattus, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, unexpectedly, surrounded by his family and friends, on Dec. 26, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Lewiston.

He was born on May 5, 1946, in Staten Island, N.Y., the son of Percy and Lillian (Payne) Hall. Bob enjoyed spending time with his family, giving to and helping those in need, volunteering, music ministries, his Romanian missionary trips to share the gospel through music, giving of himself, and taking care of people with disabilities. He was known for his thoughtfulness, loving ways and random acts of kindness.

He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Lewiston. He played the organ and piano for the church for almost 35 years. Bob was a wonderfully talented singer and musician. He taught himself
to play the piano by ear; later learning how to read sheet music —
perfecting his skills.
He also enjoyed teaching Sunday school, volunteering for many church functions and was the minister of the nursing home music ministries in the Lewiston-Auburn community.

Bob dedicated many years of his life providing loving care to people with developmental disabilities at Pineland Center, John F. Murphy Homes, Social Learning Center and Lutheran Social Services.

He is survived by his wife, Sandi Hall of Sabattus; sons, Robert Hall Jr. and wife, Karen, of Sabattus, and Richard Hall of Lewiston; daughter, Thereasa Pietrowicz and fiancé, Michael Downes, of Sabattus; stepchildren, Douglas Pepe and wife, Sheila, of Illinois, and Lisa Bartholemew and husband, Raymond, of Massachusetts; his sister, Grace O’Keefe and her husband, Al, of Lisbon; and all of their adult children, Albert, Danny, Michael, Colleen, Kathy, and Dennis and their respective families; grandchildren, Samantha, Joshua, Jennifer, and “Poppa’s boy,” David; step-grandchildren, Jonathan, Todd, Christopher and Tiffany Lynn; and his four beloved dogs, Lucy, Sadie, Ellie and Lester.

He was predeceased by his parents and first wife, Phyllis (Moriarty) Hall.
