AUBURN — Amos “Ace” Don pleaded not guilty to burglary and theft at his arraignment in Androscoggin County Superior Court on Tuesday.
The charges stem from an alleged burglary on Sept. 26 at 88 Dumont Ave. According to court records, police responding to a call found a car with Massachusetts plates in the driveway. The driver was stopped as he left, with household items and a white substance found in the car.
“Don admitted that the cocaine was his, that he was selling it,” Lewiston patrol officer Jason Johnson wrote in an affidavit.
In court, Don also contested police seizing cash found on him that night.
In Massachusetts, Don is facing a murder charge in the death of 29-year-old Erica Field of Lewiston in Boston on Aug. 25. He’s also accused of wounding her boyfriend, Shameek Garcia. An arrest warrant for that crime was issued Dec. 8. A Suffolk County court clerk said Tuesday that it didn’t appear that he’d been indicted.
