Lewisto 10, CFape Elizabeth 2

LEWISTON – Emilie Cloutier registered a hat trick as Lewiston skated to a 10-2 romp over Cape Elizabeth in girls’ hockey action Tuesday.

Kristen Lacasse and Marisa Zamrock also contributed for the Blue Devils (8-1-1) with two goals each, while single tallies by Natalie Rousseau, Tamara Roy and Taylor Teixeira completed the scoring. Lewiston led by just one after the first period before adding four goals in the second.

Brianna Lajoie earned the win in net for Lewiston.

Cape Elizabeth (3-4-1) received both goals from Sasha Simpson, while Hanna Brewster handled goalkeeping duties.  

Girls’ basketball

Erskine 56, Mt. Blue 40

FARMINGTON – The Erskine girls’ basketball squad erupted for 21 points in the third quarter to pull away for a 56-40 victory over Mt. Blue in KVAC girls’ basketball action Tuesday. 

Jessica Souther led the Eagles (2-4) with 15 points, while Kaci Hudson chipped in with 14. 

The Cougars (0-7) were paced by Chelsea Thompson with a solid 10-point effort, while Jenna Pederson and Gabby Foy each added eight.  

Boys’ basketball

Brewer 67, Lewiston 38

LEWISTON – Ray Bessette led a trio of players in double figures as Brewer hustled to a 67-38 victory over Lewiston in local boys’ basketball action Tuesday.

After forging a 17-10 lead after one quarter. Brewer erupted for 28 points in the second quarter to open a 21-point lead and put it out of reach.

Bessette finished with 15 points for the Witches (7-1), while Jordan Richards and Nate Carson each added 11.

The Blue Devils (1-7) were paced by Peter Blais with an eight-point effort, while Mckay Hyde tallied six and Stephen Patrie added five.
