Genevieve R. Marcus
1913 – 2009
LEWISTON — Genevieve R. Marcus, 96, wife of the late Bernard Marcus, passed away Dec. 31, at a Lewiston nursing facility.
She was born in Bangor, Nov. 14, 1913, the daughter of the late Alvah G. and Annie (Shannon) Robinson.
She was a graduate of Bangor High School, Class of 1931. She married Bernard Marcus and was employed at Dow Air Force Base for 21 years until its closing. She went on to work for the Lewiston Raceway until its closing and worked for many of the fairs throughout the state for more than 20 years. She was a former member of the USTA and the Maine Harness Racing Association.
She is survived by her son, James R. Marcus; and nieces and nephews.
